I have an S24+ SM-S926B (International variant) as my work mobile, and an S24+ SM-S926U1 (USA variant) as my personal mobile. I only use "Swipe to unlock" as my Screen lock type for both devices, and all other settings for each are identical as far as I can see.

When I tap any notification from the lockscreen of the work S24+ (International), the associated application will open straight away. However, when I perform the same action on the personal S24+ (USA) I get a full screen "Swipe to open" notification pop-up, creating an extra and unnecessary step.

Considering the above, that these are the same phones, and are both on their most up-to-date versions of One UI 6.1, one would assume that there is some kind of function (albeit very hard to find) in Settings that operates this lockscreen/notification "feature". I'll be damned if I can find it though.

I am now needing to return my work phone due to an employment change, so would really appreciate some advice as to how I can turn off this useless and downright annoying extra step on my personal device.

Appreciate your help, and thanks in advance!

This could be a setting under face/ finger unlock.

In settings, search for face unlock. There will be an option to "stay on lock screen until swipe". Disable this

Thanks mbckl, appreciate you getting back to me.

I did come across this suggestion with a google search. To get to the menu with this feature, you first need to register your face biometrics. To be able to register your face biometrics, one UI forces you to set up a "secure" screen lock (pin, password, pattern). Once the screen lock is set and face biometrics registered, you then have access to toggle off the feature you mentioned. The problem is I do not want a secure screen lock... I only want the basic swipe. So if I try to then revert back to Swipe, One UI turns your feature back on and deletes the previously saved face biometrics.

I find it baffling that it is such a difficult thing to fix on the USA variant of the S24+. The International variant doesn't require any of this... it just works as it should, even with the "stay on lock screen until swipe" feature enabled, and with only the basic swipe as the screen lock.

Guess it's back to the drawing board 😮💨

Thanks again for reaching out
