Dear all, i want to bring up this issue that I noticed with my brand new S24 Ultra cameras first batch, in particular the 200MP and 50MP where the photos are being turned darker, grainy, patchy or not nice right after taking the photos. It is visible if the photo is taken with the 200 or 50MP, then the photo was fine for a few second until it got ruined after the post-processing kicks in within a few seconds. However, the 12MP photos look fine as it is not affected by the post processing.  There is no way to turn off the post processing in the camera setting, tried every method, even in Expert Raw and the results are the same. Sadly, many of my CNY photos (which is the purpose i got this phone for) ruined.

I am not sure if this is a hardware or software issue, so i wrote to Samsung Malaysia reviews and they never responded. Then I sent the phone to the Service Center and now it is being checked. I will update later when the phone has been checked.

I googled and find many others facing this issues in the US but wonder if anyone in Malaysia faces the same issue as me in Malaysia. Otherwise the phone is fine in every aspect. There are a few posts from the internet elsewhere with the same problem.

Please share if you have this problem in Malaysia too. You are not alone!

Dear Jazly, I believe we should bring this up for Samsung to improve on this. Actually the S24 Ultra is quite a good phone, but this photos post processing is truly killing the good vibe with the phone.

Even with the Malaysian community, I think I am the only one who brings this up in the forum. So please all out there if you are facing this problem, you are not alone and can help to voice your part here.

To be specific, hopefully Samsung can enable the part to turn off the AI post processing and let us choose to remaster the photos or edit it later. Not forcing the beautiful photos taken with the 200/50MP to be over processed, bad HDR or exposure right after taking it. I noticed even the RAW format is the same too without any option to change the post processing.

An update: After many days that I wrote to Samsung Malaysia in the beginning then i have received an email that my review of the phone has been published live online at the Samsung Malaysia website. Hopefully this brings to the attention of Samsung to technically look into this issue with the 200/50Mp cameras and post processing. And in my post, i have attached the samples of pictures with the difference of 12/50/200MP photos taken too.

UP,

FIX that feature ASAP.

No words anywhere from samsung, newest EU patch from today ( after the vividness patch) didn't fixed the post process. How many month before the phone is usable?

Hello all, has anyone updated the March software update and see any difference(s) with the 200MP and 50 MP photos quality post processing?

Anyone has any update about their camera improvements to the 200/50MP photos after the 3rd update during late March 2024? Please share as I don't see any difference.

As of today April 10, I still have the same issue. Using 50MP for my outdoor photo was fine for 3 second and loading a darker outcome after.

I am in Jakarta, Indonesia
