As the title implies, I'm noticing that my S25 Ultra is charging so slow when I'm in a video call with my gf. We always have long video calls every night since we're long distance and the charging can barely keep up. It does go up still but probably around 1% every 10 mins. I understand Messenger draws a lot of power but to not keep with super fast charging 2.0 seems ridiculous to me. My old OnePlus6T could charge faster (phone before my S25 Ultra) which I believe had slower charging, granting it also had a smaller battery. I am using a Ugreen 65W adapter and their 100W 5A cable.

please change your habit, you have SFC 2.0 just plug your phone 30 mins before video call and you should have plenty of battery

or if it's really long video call session like 2 hours or longer, just use your laptop please, come on you can afford S25U, i think you should able to afford laptop for long video call session, right?

the reason why your S25U slow charging because whenever your phone screen turned on, your phone only receive 5W

You do have a point, thing is, our vid calls usually last four around 4 hours (basically the whole night). I am usually fully charged when we start but still getting drained.

I actually picked a new phone over a laptop since it's more versatile for my current needs. This is really a once every 5 years or so puchase since I don't have that much money. And my old O+6T was already around 6 years old with issues.

Im hearing it could be due to overheating? My room doesn't have AC so I could see that being the cause but im not knowledgeable enough to say for sure.

Im looking around other posts as well to see if someone else has similar issues and have a solution.

Wow! 4 hours. I suppose youre not holding the phone? I must admit this is a unique use case. Try a magnetic TEC coupled with a magnetic and robust case. That will keep the temps down while charging and in use. Set the TEC fan to about 50% or 30% use a long USB cable. I use the LeadJoy from Datablitz

Yeah, not much I can do as we only have the night to talk since we're both working during the day. I'll check what I can find from your suggestion and hope it works.

Thank you!
