Hi @tinc03, I'm sorry to hear that this is happening with your device. Sometimes restarting your device can help resolve this issue. Then, you might want to clear the cache for the app to see if this helps.

Settings > apps > Messages > storage > clear cache

If this doesn't help, please send through a log file within 2-3 minutes of the issue occurring.

You can do this by sending through another Error Report through Samsung Members however please make sure, to tap the Send system log data tick and before you tap Send. This part is important as without an error report we may not be able to find the reason for the issue.

Can you please also provide a screen capture video so that we can have an in-depth look at the issue occurring?

Samsung members > + logo > Error reports > RELVANT CATEGORY > Attach > Screenshot > Start now > Video (top symbol)

Doing this will initiate a screen recording of your phone and you will have control of the phone to show us what is happening. If the video ends but you have not reached the end of showing the error, please tap on the video icon again and another video will initiate. Please make sure, to tap the Send system log data tick and before you tap Send.

NOTE: Please don't close the Samsung Members app until you receive a Error Report Sent notification in the notification panel.

Did you have this running on a other device previously?

It's a known issue with RCS/Chat Features.
Simply put, too many registration attempts causes it to fail on Google's servers.

You could try connecting to WiFi, and see if that helps.

Otherwise, try clearing the cache memory from the app:
Press and hold the Messages icon, then tap the 'i' from the pop-up menu. Scroll down to and tap on 'Storage', then tap on clear cache.

If this doesn't help, go to the Messages setting, scroll down to 'Contact us' and submit an error report.

Ahh ok. I think your issue will still be related to what I posted below.

Even though it was on the same device, Google will see it as multiple registrations with the same number.

But definitely send an error report as @SamsungLaura advised.

After I saw this post I tested this and I've the same issue, I tried stopping the chat feature from Google's web page but end result is the same

If the tips don't help, send an error log.

But I know when I had this issue before, Samsung viewed the error report and told me the app was fine and doing what it should.
Instead the issue is on Google's end.

Edit:
"Based on analysis of the attached log, we can see that the device has reached a monthly/daily quota for OTP set by the server (Google), which results in the 'registration failed' error message to occur. This message typically occurs when the device has been restarted multiple times, or multiple RCS switches has occurred. As this is a feature implemented by Google RCS server, this is normal operation."

Basically, if this is the same issues faced by others, it will mean waiting until Google resets the OTP, which could be weekly or monthly, all dependant on Google.

I also was trying to set it up. Cleared cache, data restarted device but still got message - registration failed.
