Samsung s20 white screen after update

My s20 is pretty much unusable after a software update. I have blocked software updates on my phone after doing a quick search online and seeing many people losing their phones. But then one day my s20 just automatically updated. Went to vivocity and queued an hour just for them to say "lcd issue, its not software" and wanted 329$ for a replacement. It was perfectly normal the day before. I have supported samsung since the s3 came out but this is the first time im so disappointed in your products. Any fixes for this issue? I do not wish to pay for samsungs mistake. This is just unbelievable, really tempted to convert to apple

Mine did the same thing today.. ran down and got a $225 A15 just to have something usable and to be able to login to my work PC.  Looked over on the way home and the **bleep** S20 screen was back on running through updates. Not sure if that has fixed it for good, but we'll see.

Mine did the same thing after the update :( They also wanted $300 to fix it and told not a software issue. Was really disappointed sadly. I have had Samsung since the s2 and never had any issues until now. I have since upgraded to the S23 Ultra because of it.  Sorry to hear you had the same issue hey. Sadly, I was unsuccessful in finding any problem solving options. The experience I had was when having the phone connected to Dex on the PC to still access my apps and messages, it randomly started working again and not a white screen. Factory reset and it worked. Updated it....and it whitescreened afterwards again haha. I gave up after that and invested in the new one. Hope you get yours fixed or get a new device!

I have samsung galaxy from S7 to S20...

Somehow, I can minimize this problem.

When the screen is white/flickering, I press power+down volume button..

Press both together until the screen is black, then it will restart with still white screen, then immediately I press power button until it solved...

Somehow it works several times...

May be you can give a try...

I tried to restart by pressing power +down volume button many times.. Still can't seem to work.
Why can't Samsung admit its their s/w update issue for s20 phone.
Many ppl i knew also seem to have this issue too.

I also got a white screen flickering issue, any other solution? above solutions are not working.

My phone also just went blank white. S20. Went to sleep, all was ok. Woke up - and the phone was dead. I suppose the update ran automatically.

It's funny that I can't even access my Samsung account now, as it asks for the code sent to the phone or sms, which I can't receive.

Does anyone find the solution or is the phone dead and I should say goodbye to all my information and expect to spend hundreds of $ for the new phone?

I unfortunately am also in the same predicament.  This has happened today (19/08/2023) Did an update and now my phone is non functional. White screen flickering, cannot access the phone at all. Is there any solution at all to this?

This just happened to my s20 today Sept 9 2023.  I was. Watching YouTube and the screen just went all white.. after several forced restarts nothing. I resolved its a new phone or pony up for a new screen..  few hours later found my old A11 to use in the mean time and while installing apps I picked up the S20 to see if I could see enough just to back up contacts and the screen just flickered back to normal. The thing is I blocked updates in fact l was constantly getting notifications to update and during the white screen episode I saw enough to allow the update to go through. So I really don't know what to think.
