Anyone with a Samaung S22 Ultra? Got my phone last Friday. Immediately had a tempered glass installed for 1,400.

Come Saturday, there were bubbles at the lower end of the phone. Went back to the shop and they re-did it for free.

Two days after, there is a bubble on the middle part of the screen. I think it will get bigger over time.

Any reco on what to do? Or can someone share where they had a tempered glass installed?

Thank you!

Hey MarkC_lay,

The bubbles may be due to air entering the small gaps between the tempered glass and the screen. This may be due to faulty installation. I recommend you head over to the store that installed it to have it replaced.

I personally don't use a screen protector, I find that a case with a raised front (I use Spigen) is usually more than enough to keep the phone safe from cracks when I drop it 😄

I don't have S22 Ultra. I have Note20 Ultra and I just use tempered glass I bought from shopee, with the glue that I have to pour on the phone screen. The ones that I've installed first were quick to have bubbles from the sides. This current glass that I let dry under UV lights for 30+ mins is the best. Haha it now has a single crack and some scratches (look like they were made by a cat) because I dropped the phone faced down and stepped on it one time. But it didn't develop bubbles so I thought I will just keep it on even if I have replacement kits ready. I mean I saw bubbles beneath the edges of the glass after picking the phone up but they vanished after a few seconds. I wanted to replace it after seeing the hair-like crack but it looks better than those I let dry for only a few minutes.

I can't imagine myself using a phone with flat screen after using S7 Edge so I guess I would still use the same type of tempered glass on my next phone in the future when this phone stops working.

If I'm not mistaken, some screen protectors (whether it's a tempered glass or hydrogel) take more than 48 hours for all the bubbles to settle. I usually give mine around a week.
