Galaxy S1. Restart your phone
* Usually fixes most temporary glitches
2. Check YouTube settings
* YouTube app → Profile → Settings → General → look for anything unusual (e.g. “Zoom to fill”)
3. Use manual rotate
* While watching, pull down the quick settings and tap the rotate icon (if it appears)
4. Clear YouTube cache
* Settings → Apps → YouTube → Storage → Clear cache
5. Update apps (or reinstall them)
* Check for YouTube or system updates
* Note: if you use alternatives like ReVanced / MicroG, update those management apps too

Galaxy S1. Turn on Auto Rotate, open YouTube, rotate to landscape, then turn it off again
2. Disable Picture-in-Picture
* Settings → Apps → YouTube → Picture-in-picture → Turn off
3. Test in Safe Mode
* Power menu → Hold "Power Off" → Tap Safe Mode
* See if issue persists
Worst case, report the bug to YouTube Support
* YouTube app → Profile → Help & feedback → Send feedback

Galaxy S2. I turned off on YouTube app and phone settings and issue remains.
3. Tested and issue remains.
Is it weird that when watching YouTube in landscape with auto rotate off, if I turn the phone to portrait but upside down the phone also goes into portrait (but not upside). I tried it with auto rotate and the phone only went portrait when I turned it the right way up not upside down

Galaxy S1. Run Sensor Test
* Samsung Members → Get help → Diagnostics → Sensors Check accelerometer/gyro (recalibrate if needed)
2. Use a third party Rotation Control app
* Force landscape on YouTube regardless of system/app behavior
3. Roll back YouTube version
* Install older version (from say APKMirror after disabling auto-update in Play Store)

Galaxy SSee if the text follows the orientation. Just to check if it is a gyroscope issue or isolated to YouTube only.
