Anyone's Basic Battery Protection working?

Yesterday morning, I updated my phone to One UI 6.1. Finally, got to experience the new battery protection. I selected Basic, which the expected behaviour is that the phone should stop charging once it reaches 100% and gradually discharges until 95%, then the charging will start again.

But I have tried with 3 charges already. With the Basic selection, my phone will remain charged at 100% and charging doesn't stop.

Looks like this feature is not optimised for older models. I am wondering if this feature is working for newer models like S24 or S23 series, or even for Z Fold 5? Appreciate if you could share your experiences. Thanks. 😊

You can just try this,go to setting,find mood and routines , and press routine and add type get notification when battery is charged 85%

Hi, actually I have this routine all along. I disabled it after Tuesday's One UI 6.1 update, which I thought the basic protection feature will be working. Didn't expect it not to work. Looks like I will enable this routine again, until Samsung fixes this issue.

I use adaptive battery protection. It does says charging pause and will charge back once it reaches 95%. However need to give it a while to adapt to your sleep pattern tho.

Oh.. is it? Seems like there is a bug for basic protection, it keeps phone charged at 100% all the time.

I use adaptive and noticed that certain times it will say charging pause and will give a time indication when charging will restart or alternatively, you may choose to charge now to get to 100%.

But for your case, maybe you can try to use it while it is at 100%. Maybe when it starts to deplete to 99%, you will be prompted with a notification that says charging will start once it hits below 95%.

I'm using S23 Ultra. Been noticing that the Basic doesn't seem to work as the phone will keep at 100% if the charger is plugged, & won't drop to 95% to start charging, meaning at 100%, it's still charging despite Basic supposedly stopping the charging at 100%. Not sure if Samsung is even aware of this bug.
