Hi is anyone having issues with battery drain during standby for Fold 3. This issues occurred 2 weeks ago. I assume it's due to the Feb 2024 security patch. Overnight it loses close to 25%.

Well, I was late to update. I've just done it a few days ago, but I've noticed it getting hot, that's for sure, (but I think that could be my other big problem) but yea, today it was the first day I used it as normal and by 12-1pm I need a charge immediately. I've had this z3 since I new, I still rate this z3 as the best S-galaxy I've had since S2 way back. Being a builder bricklayer, I would always crack my screen around the year mark, give or take. But this has made the distance, with a minor faulty screen replacement. But I'm going to document, the power drain and keep you posted

Samsung help team gave me normal advice only like turn off location. I keep my phone to only a limited amount of apps and also keep location on only when using the app. They said charge from 15 to 100 and let it discharge below 15. Send a log file afterwards if problem still occurs. I'll be doing that.

I've, throughout the years, noticed rapid battery drain related to a damaged charging port. If you've ever forgotten to unplug the charger and walked off ripping the cord out, it may have damaged the charging socket connections and battery connection. I have done this to a few phones. But if you cordless recharge, then disregard this comment.

Nah charging port is fine. I quite good in phone structure maintenance. I haven't dropped this phone at all or plug the charging port aggressively. I am 80% sure it's due to the software update.

👍🏼 thought I'd mention it. I've done it a few times, not knowing as the phones seemed to charge ok, but weren't. So I'm glad that's not your problem.

Hi, YES, I definitely see a battery drain since the latest update. I am searching the net to figure out how can I see what cause the drain. The built-in thing just shows which app uses the most battery which is funny enough last time was the always on display, so I guess either nothing does an extra hit on the battery on the app level, or it is indeed the AOD, but I don't think so...  I wish there were an app shows on system level to see what actual process or whatever drains the battery, does anybody know anything like that? BTW I already performed a cache partition cleaning some say it does something some says it doesn't in my case no change...

Annoying, I am thinking of buying a new phone.

I think Accubattery is your best option to see discharge.

Check the security and privacy settings, update both security and Google update (alot of the time, people forget to update Google) then clear and wipe caches. Hope this helps
