Galaxy fold and flips having issue

Really upset with the fold and flip series. My galaxy fold 3 having issue:

-Loudspeaker not working 

-No wifi 

-Mic not working( can hear but end of the line cant hear our voice)

Went into forum and youtube to discover even the new galaxy fold 5 starting to have this issue. Best thing is i was about to pay finish 2 year installment from starhub and this happen. Really breaks my heart. My galaxy note 8 which have gone throught rough phase still survive compare to galaxy fold 3 which i care like baby, suit up with quality case, never drop or touch water. 

Will refrain from buying fold and flip for the moment. Really ache my heart. To fix it cost alot. My worries next is the screen will have issue.

I think only those who have issues post abt it..it is rather rare to seeso.eone post something great abt a particularitem/equipment.

I think some would say that they always take care of their phone but little did they know that a fewbumps here and there can or may lead to an issue with the phone

What i did search is that the flex cable is the common issue, other then that the motherboard another issue.

Hi, yes it's due to the flex cable. No matter how much u take good care of it, we won't be able to take care of the internal sadly. 😪

There is a small chance that if u visit the service centre, they might allow for a repair. Hope the customer service officer knows that it's a common issue for Z Fold owners and willing to offer a one time goodwill.

@donutsX I mostly use the phone only when going and coming back from work or taking photo when going holiday or events. The rest of the day i rely on my no more updates/heavy duty Samsung Note 8. I even went to handphone shops and they pointed to flex and motherboard which is the main issue and if people want to sell any samsung flip or fold, they will do a full inspection. Not trying to flex or anything. I do have a pristine note 10 which i solely use for gaming( call of duty which use alot of ram, video/photo editing and other random games ), note 8 for everyday use ( no doubt i admit i was rough with it ) , prinstine tab s6 for home usage ( youtube, games such as carxdrift 2 which connected to ps4 controller, shadowfight 3 and 4) and galaxy fold for music and camera which i use 1 hour journey to work and 1 hour journey back from work and weekend sometimes for event. Not to mention s5 and note 5 which i still keep as a momento. All the phone i had is from contract with starhub or singtel. And the only phone that need repair is the note 8, 2 times for the back glass, other then that no other repairs made to other phone. That is how i do take pride in my phone's collection. I am not rich but earn each phone through every contract made. From working as a part time waiter( earning $3.50/hr ) after school till now working in full time job. What saddened me is that this is the most expensive phone that i ever take in contract and this month is the last installment payment and the phone gives me problem even before finish paying and to pay another $300+ for repair is really absurd.

My WiFi was not working for the second time.
First time (jan 2023) , samsung was agreeable to fix for free after I banged table and explained that it stopped working after an update.

Just on Dec 25th , 2023, my phone hung many times, and I had to restart.
After that, the WiFi stopped working.
All others worked perfectly still

Went to PS service centre and was quoted $720 to repair, 5 to 7 working days lead time.

Fed up and almost on the verge of buying a new basic phone. However, my husband found a place to fix.
Many places said cannot fix but this one shop at Marine Parade central did it.
$200 and 3 hours later, my fold 3 is now in great working condition.
I paid an extra $80 because my screen could not open flat and had that fixed.

The technician said the wifi not working is common.
I saw another guy collecting his flip phone.

This shop is legitimate.
This will definitely be my to go to shop in future.

Hi @HerRoyalMagness Thank for sharing the info. I think i am going to give up fixing this phone. To many problem one after another. First was speaker den mic den wifi and sensor den now new issue, cant play via bluetooth when screen is open. Need to close then can play youtube. I am afraid that the flex cable is affecting the motherboard slowly. Currently back up all photos just waiting for anything bad happen to the phone. I do love this phone because of the size screen. Not so big not so small. Just nice for me. I am only afraid after fixing it, same issue will occur when we open and shut the screen. Flex cable wont last. I do have a few shop's in Boon Lay who can fix it but they recommend not to due to wear and tear of the flex cable.

Sorry to hear of such issues.
I agree it's very annoying to have so many issues considering this is not a cheap phone and it is also considered as a top end phone.

Samsung should really up their hardware if they want to charge so much.
My husband has finally convinced me to switch to Apple once this fold 3 kaput.
