Galaxy ZOpened my Galaxy Z Flip5 the other day and heard a cracking noise, straight away a black line appeared across the crease and the phone was the un- usable, flashing and cycling through Apps, touch screen would not respond and by the following morning was just a black screen, looked into speaking to Samsung repair and through the website booked me in with EE, spoke to EE and they seemed very confident this would be under warrenty as not even 5 months old and this appears to be happeing alot with these phones, EE store reps were very vocal about this and really dont advertise this phone as a viable option, so was booked in and told it would be tomorrow i hear back as there was 12 phone booked in already (all different ones, not Flip 5's) to see whats up, 10 mins after leaving i got an email - not under warrenty and will need to pay to get fixed, the rep then called and advised i speak to Samsung before accepting any quote, however they new this would not be doable as when on the phone with Samsung they said EE has said its not under warrenty and they cant help and there was no point in speaking to them, EE have said it is Physical damage and Samsung wont even take it to be assessed by them, when signed in was labled as excellent with no marks, scratched or dents and its definitely not suffered damage, drops bangs etc, EE t was very clear they see this exact issues every day with this phone, so tried to speak to about the cause with EE but was just told they cant tell me what the physical damage is and just that it just
So i need a phone and agreed to the quote of £350, made a call Samsung again the day after for some advice if this happens again, all i got was that my EE quote was £575 now (after agreeing to £350) so i called and spoke to EE over the phone as couldnt get in touch with the store, the rep person at EE couldnt understand why it wasnt in warrenty as this is apprently a major issue and to stick to the original quote seems every in EE person i have spoke to - in store and phone all say to not buy this phone they really dont hold back telling you its a waste of moeny for this exact issue, after 2 very lenghtly phone calls with EE (2 people) they have both said Samsung has come out and admitted to this problem and will replace the phone under warrenty And that EE should not actually continue to touch them as they need to go staright back to Samsung to be assessed ? I cant do this due to EE determining its not covered and Samsung saying they wont even assess it and send staright back
Is this right ? And worth raising with EE (its apprently been added to my EE file to go in tomorrow and talk to them about this but im not sure its really going to go anywhere with them
Samsung use EE as a licensed repair so im not sure if this right and worth challenging with EE but some reps have advised that they had no reason to asess it and not send this off to Samsung first and should challenge this in store?
Has this been the case for anyone else ?

Galaxy ZI've asked for further escalation of issue but was again dismissed.
Sounds like a common script they use for this model of phone.
Appalling treatment for a long standing loyal customer for 15 years.

Galaxy ZSame issue, I made a report through the ACCC (if you live in Australia). I wrote about my experience in my post (https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-z/inner-screen-hinge-manufacturing-fault-on-samsung-fold-...).
I got the same script and phone call stuff with case managers
Any updates would be appreciated.
Thanks!
