RAW files on native camera app

Just received my new flip 6 and the camera app is showing files extensions of jpeg despite having checked the RAW mode in settings, and so when I transfer to mac I loose the powerful RAW editing features. Can any one help please

Have you checked if you are taking the photo in PRO mode and not Auto (Photo) or any other mode. Also make sure, it is RAW only and not RAW and JPEG

Where do I find pro mode

Open the camera app, then click "More" should be at the right most option. From here, you will find Expert RAW, PRO mode, etc.

and it is not a true raw as expected...

I think I see this and yes took a photo and imagesize jumped and files ext is now dng so thank you so much
