Samsung Z Fold 3 update - One UI 5.1 - Android Version 13 - Wi-Fi & Large screen issue

I update my Z Fold 3 to One UI 5.1 - Android Version 13 on 25 April 2023 and direct after update my Z Fold 3 Wi-Fi stop working and also my large screen start freezing and restart. Wish I would go back to One UI 5.0 as it work perfect. 

Call customer service twice today, first time they ask me to "Setting - General Management - Reset - Reset Network settings - Restart phone." This work for  1 hour then the Wi-Fi turn off and could not turn on again.

The second time I call, they ask me to do a "Factory Reset" not preferable as this will only be my last resource action as this is very time consuming and a lot of my setting will be lost etc etc.

Dose anyone have this issue?? anyone solved the Wi-Fi and Large screen issue it???

Hmm that's weird. I also have a fold3 and updated it. have had no issues with mine.

Backing up your phone (via smart switch on pc) will make the factory reset a lot less painful though!

Ended up backup the phone data and did a factory reset, and the result is that wifi still dose not work, book a appointment today to bring in the phone to service center.

Based on what you've described, I recommend for you to head into your nearest authorised service centre with your proof of purchase so that we can take a closer look into this. Please be aware that due to our Privacy Policy, your device may be factory reset before being assessed. I highly recommend backing up your device via Smart Switch, OneDrive and/or Google to ensure none of your data is lost.

the proof of purchase is at home, but i book a appointment today and i can always send them proof or porches or they can check online as i bought the phone on Samsung online. thanks for your info, just a pain as Wi-Fi is a important as this few days I ended up using 3-4gb per day of my 30gb network data, and the most painful is the hassle to deal with all the bank, credit card and octopus card later.

Below is reticules - Samsung send me a update and wi-fi stop working, that is already very inconvenient as today mobile is a day to day accessory, I had to do a factory reset, and did not solve the problem, now the repair center in Hong Kong send be the below info:

"Hello, this is the message from Langham Place, Samsung Repair Center.

Repair Order – * A230427HT000078* (Ref#L40230427Q028),

The repair parts are quoted at *$4200, including the screen.

 

   ** To receive repairs, you must pay for the repair parts first, and then arrange to order parts for repair.

 

Please enter the number of the options below as a reply to your Samsung product repair arrangement, thank you:

 1A – To accept the quotation, please pay cash or credit card at the 40th floor of Langham Place Office Building, Mong Kok;

     or

 1B – Accept quotation, payment method, request PayMe payment method via WhatsApp

      (Wait for us to verify the receipt or wait for the next working day).

 2 - Decline the offer.

 If you decide not to make repairs after consideration,

When receiving the pick-up SMS message, please bring the maintenance order from Monday to Sunday and public holidays,

SAMSUNG - I been using your phone sense I switch over from Iphone5, I wonder is it time to switch back to Apple??? get a grip on your service. this is a perfect story for SCMP.

This morning been calling helpline - could not help (9:00am)

Call Langham Place Samsung Service Center (9:30am) leave you number we will call you back.

Now is 5:30pm no call back from Langham Place - grate service for a phone that cost 15,000hkd.

Dear SamsungClaudette,

I am in Hong Kong, and Samsung service has been very slow responding and quite bad in there customer service, as it been taking 3 days sense I got a quotation from them telling me that the Wi-Fi module is damage, and nothing to do with my update One UI 5.1 (from 5.0). As a customer I told them that after I update the 5.0 to 5.1 the Wi-Fi stop working, so it my fault (LOL), think i will be careful to update any update from Samsung in the future. 

Don't take me wrong, the phone is grate been hassle free for the warranty period and only after 1.5 year this happened.

And because the Wi-Fi module is link to the LCD screen they need to change the LCD screen as well (OMG) so they will change 4200hkd (535USD), and after some bouncing around with different ppl and lots of wait they say I will get 50% off and because I don't want to wait and would like have my phone back I have not paid the quite unreasonable cost for the repair, and now let see how long it will take for the repair.

I am currently looking for other Apple as I did go from iphone5 over to Samsung family however not sure the current experience is worth me to stay.
