I just wanted to check if anyone has had the same experience like me. A few minutes ago, I was just minding my own business waiting in line and my Fold 4 started getting hot to touch, and I am using a phone casing: Spigen Slim Armor Pro Pen Edition, and I could feel the heat of it. I unfolded my phone to touch the inner display and it was super hot. I was ready to yeet it if smoke suddenly came out of the phone.

I have battery protection on and processor profile as standard

There was nothing abnormal, the highest battery usage at the point where I posted this was contact storage which was at 2.5% the rest were low

Ah.. I would suggest turning in on, even though it may sometimes turn on Power Saving mode at 60+ %. With this feature, ur phone will hardly be overheated, as it will activate power saving mode.

It's not over heating anymore but it was quite the scare when it was happening a few hours back.

Hi...

I m using Z Fold 4 too...

Would like to share my Device Care Battery Setting... u might like to do it as how I set it as so far I got no heating issue just sometimes high battery usage but Device Care background usage limit will prompt me to shut off the app or put it to deep sleep if I m not using it...

Let's break it down 1 by 1 with photos below...

1. Device Care > Battery > Background Usage Limits.

Switch On Put Unused Apps To Sleep. This will automatically prompt u if any app with high battery usage ask u to put it to sleep or from time to time will prompt u a list of apps u haven use for a long time then u can choose which to put to sleep or not as u can see there is 3 options there for u to choose...

2. Device Care > Battery > More Batteries Setting.

Switch On Adaptive Battery for your phone to auto tune how much battery to use for different tasks.

Performance Profile set as Standard for balance of speed, battery life n cooling efficient.

Hope this helps...
