SCAM DO NOT USE

Sent in my s21ultra 512gb in perfect working order. Was quoted $405 as trade in. Was told phone wasnt working and given $10. No context as to what was wrong. No way to communicate with them. Had second phone to trade in on different device but have kept that until this is resolved but they have charged me a $60 late fee despite me asking for a call to discuss. Absolutely disgusting to be treated this way. Samsung should be accountable for partnering with this company and having there customers ripped off.

So frustrating that there is no way to communicate with anyone about this. Have called samsung numerous times who say they will escalate this with asurion but that is all they can do. Not good enough.

I've had a similar experience and am still waiting for it to be resolved after 5 weeks. Better to sell you device privately than go through the pain of dealing with Asurion and them robbing people who trade in devices which are in excellent working order. It's their word against ours.

Why should Samsung be accountable for their dealings with a dodgy friend? It's like saying blame everyone in your friends group if there's one dodgy person. Also. Asurion partners with a lot of big name companies like Vodafone. I understand your frustration, Asurion is terrible and their model could do with a revision or three. Did you document the condition of the phone prior sending it in? Was the phone properly packaged when you sent in (having worked at AusPost prior I've seen some really bad handling of parcels)?

Thanks for your comment. Very helpful. This is not one dodgy person in a friendship group. It is a partnership Samsung made for its customers to trade phones in on new tech. Big difference!!!

Why shouldnt Samsung take some responsibility ? When trading in you click a button that samsung provides that takes you to 'samsungs preferred partner' you dont get to choose, (assuming the trade in was done via the samsung site) ...if not then disregard this comment...

I agree, Samsung needs to rethink its in partnership with a SCAMMER and the only response they give is you need to contact Asurion which they know cant be contacted other than via a portal that replies with typical automated responses and never addresses the question. the fact is they are enticing people to buy a phone with heavy discounts then charge back the trade in after they steal your phone and then charge the discounts back plus more fees for admin and whatever they want with no recourse for the purchaser. Samsung only has scripted responses in the Philippines, they don't have Australian staff that can assist.

Ok, you need to go to 'lounge-have your say' on this members app. There is a member @consumeraffairs whom was initiating a class action on Asurion. Or go to your original post, and scroll down to the bottom ' releated posts'
