Price Promise Claim

I made a price promise claim via the Samsung Australia website. I found an approved retailer who had the exact same model of fridge I just purchased from Sansung cheaper than the price I paid. I included the URL to the retailer's page that clearly shows the model and the cheaper price. I also included a screenshot of that page (which showed the model number, the price and the end date of their reduced price)  including the URL in the address bar of the browser.

My claim was rejected due to:

"We consider your claim to have insufficient evidence of the product details (e.g. product ID, URL, Retailer details, price) in the images provided of the retailer’s website."

What else could I have done?

An alternative option is to bargain amongst approved retailers until you find one that gives you a better price. Make sure you have taken delivery charge into account as that is where they trick you. Bargaining requires guts and techniques acquired only with experience.

Practice on non-approved retailers before moving back to approved retailers. I bought a car doing this including the line if I buy today what discount will you give. Then get them to confirm the price by email before acting. I bought a new car by paying by credit card deposit and subsequentlty the balance also by credit card. Yes, the many thousands of dollars on credit card topped up by transfers from other sources. But bear in mind risks and scams. Use searching white pages for a genuine phone number to confirm details.

- The cheaper product must be exactly the same as the product you purchased from samsung.com/au, or from our Shop App
- You must have submitted your claim within 14 days of purchase
- The product must be publicly available from one of the Eligible Retailers listed at an advertised price lower than the price on samsung.com/au, or from our Shop App within 14 days of your purchase date
- The product must be brand new and in stock, and it must come complete with all its original packaging
