So I have a subscription for the Samsung Care+. I thought I'd write my personal experience and share this with the community. I think it'll be interesting to seehow the process is and what the steps are so you know what to expect.

In any case, follow along below!

The portal was pretty straightforward to navigate to. The only weird thing was my code email to log in was sent to the spam box. Otherwise it's pretty easy to lodge a swap request. Simply choose the device you want to swap and click next.

The marketing spiel suggests that they will send out a replacement device on the day that they receive and approve your request by 3pm. However, the t&C does clarify that if they don't have your model, they will put you on priority backorder.

Unfortunately Asurion doesn't have any stock of my device. Which means I probably won't get my device as early as I expect. At least they provide a timeline for an update, which means you can plan things better. Eg, if you were planning to leave for a holiday soon, then it may be better to wait until you come back.

I am then met with another message when attempting to click next.

This time, instead of 10 business days, the message says that an "alternative model" may be shipped out within 2 business days. Considering the wording re:colour, I suspect I may receive a different coloured phone to mine (as per their t&c).

The rest of the process was simply Asurion reminding me to ensure that all security locks are disabled. Forgetting to do this, as per their t&c, may result in delays and further costs. So it's nice they've reminded me to do this.

So in general, the process to get a swap device is pretty easy. I suppose I'll wait and see what happens from now!

Geez I wish 😂

But according to my totally unscientific findings, getting an upgrade is somewhat rare (let alone 2 models up). I've also heard of asurion refunding the total cost of the phone instead of a replacement, though I can't confirm if this is Australia or elsewhere.

It's usually the same model and size, but in a different colour (usually generic black). But it may take around 10 business days. Which is what you're paying for anyways (as per their t&c).

I've been waiting 2 weeks so far and nothing has been sent. Seems like it's a not so convenient service to have.
