I don't use power saving because my mobile data is always on and I use location for automations, reminders, alarms etc. Sync is also on for cloud. But this might help with battery life.

I recharge my device whenever I have a chance - when I eat - breakfast, short meals, lunch, dinner etc when I'm taking a shower etc so I really don't feel the stress of running out of charge.

I don't like it switching to 60Hz refresh rate when I use the phone.

Maybe I'll try it. I just hope I won't end up getting random restarts that will force me to factory reset again.

May 26 2022 update:

It has been almost a week since I've activated the adaptive power saving and I think it's nice to have in my case. I didn't want my phone tracking my usage because I thought it would use a lot more battery and processing power to run in the background. I already have mobile data, location and sync on 24/7 so I'm hesitant about adding this another "adaptive" feature because I think it will consume power in the background.

Okay I already have Bixby routines to take care of battery saving mode depending on the status the phone. All of them are not working now because I have adaptive battery saving on and now I'm thinking of deleting those routines but I'm still observing this newly-activated feature. This could free up some slot in my Bixby routines - I currently have 49 routines.

It appears that the standby battery drain became much minimal compared to when I didn't have this feature on. Back then, the battery drain was around 15% for approx 2 hrs. But after I turned adaptive power saving on, the battery drain became around 15% for approx 4 hours. I sometimes notice it's on when I'm using the phone but I don't notice performance reduction as it's supposed to perform at only 75% and at 10% less brightness when power saving is on. I still leave the AOD on - it's set to show when tapped at certain times and location (through Bixby routines) or show always on some conditions.

I think battery life is affected by these settings too:

For now, wow, just wow for this feature that I doubted at first.

Sept 5 2022 update:

I had to turn it off because after weeks of use, it still could not predict or learn my usage pattern. And it's turning off location when I need it to work. The refresh rate also drops and it doesn't go back to 120Hz when I start using the phone. And the battery life is not night and day difference. I still recharge the phone every time I eat meals and have breaks, before I **bleep** and before I shower the next day.

Adaptive power saving will only turn on when you're not using the device
