OthersGoogle is well aware of how popular mobile gaming can be. With the popularity of titles like Genshin Impact, the company is looking to better support the use of game controllers. In fact, there will be a few related features in Android 12 this year.
Yesterday, it was rumoured that Google is including a new GameManager service in Android 12. There were no details on what this gamer mode does yet. But Mishaal Rahman found that there's a new feature under the Languages and Input settings. As you can see from the screenshot, the feature allows for controller vibrations.
Another feature found by AndroidPolice is "haptic-coupled audio effect". Allegedly, this feature allows a device to trigger vibrations on the phone based on audio. This can probably be combined with the other feature, allowing for audio-triggered vibrations on controllers. On top of that, Android 12 will be able to detect the battery gauge of Bluetooth devices, which would include game controllers.
It's great to see that Google is finally adding game controller support, considering how lacking it was before.
