This is the first time after more than a year with this phone.

I used to set dark mode to activate via Bixby routines because of "conflicts" in controls when I set it up somewhere else. This is my first phone where I use Bixby on. I think I'm relatively new to this thing. I wanted to have all my automatons controlled solely within Bixby routines but I find that the 50 routines cap is so limited and I find it upsetting that instead of improving it, Samsung made it even worse in OneUI 4.1 update - I now can't edit the 50th routine without deleting it first. I had to find a way so that I can move some automatons outside of Bixby routines without causing conflicts in controls.

Dark mod is one of them. I've set it to be on from sunset to sunrise. My location's always on. I've never had an issue with it. But tonight, while I was on YouTube, I saw a white dialogue box from Bixby routines to open the calendar app. I got curious as to why was it white so I swiped down the notification panel and found that the quick access icons are yellow - those that I use for daytime. When I long pressed the dark mode icon, it shows that it is scheduled to be on at sunset. But it's already 8pm. I went back and instead of long pressing the icon, I tapped on the label "dark mode" and confirmed that it was turned off while it says "when to use: sunset to sunrise"

I remember that I recently removed the dark mode button from one hand gestures then included it back.

It's supposed to be on at sunset but it didn't

Hello EllisKai,

It's a little bit odd, since your Samsung Galaxy device has been updated to the latest Android 12, it supposed to enhance the Dark Mode.  To keep you comfortable in the dark, Dark mode now automatically dims wallpapers and icons. Illustrations in Samsung apps now have Dark mode versions with darker colors for a more consistent experience that’s easier on your eyes.

Really understand where your unpleasant experience is coming from, but don't worry, we are here to help.

I suggest to reset your device, and ensure that your device is up-to-date to the latest Software Updated.

Then toggle the Turn On/Off of Dark mode settings.  You can select Custom schedule and set the time from there.

If the issue persists, you may contact us on online Samsung support channels by clicking the below links.

It only happened once. Maybe I just did something in the settings that I'm now unaware of. I will know once it happens again.
