haven't had that issue so far Facebook updates normally with me

What happens to me is that every time that I open Facebook, I have a notification from the play store saying "updating Facebook features" and it never stops

it's not actually doing a update on the app, its updating your newsfeed.

I had the same feature downloading problem. Uninstall FB restart your phone and reinstall FB and that problem should go away.
