It seems to be a known bug. I have already sent an error report and suggest you submit and error report about it as well. Hopefully it will be addressed in one of the future beta updates. A weird workaround I have been using is to have an app/game that sends regular pointless notifications, enabled to send notifications silently so that there is almost always a notification present. With the notification, it keeps my clock visible. Not the best workaround... but it works for me.
