This just started happening to me this morning... Whenever I receive a notification, the entire screen is taken over and goes black (I'm in dark mode). Same thing goes for when I slide down the notification drawer, the area where it used to be transparent and you could see the app in the background, no longer is transparent. I tried turning off dark mode, with no luck thinking that may have been it. Running beta since day one, first time seeing this problem. I have attached two screenshots... The first is me in Google News, and the second is what happens when I receive a notification.

Any ideas? Very annoying. I was in the middle of typing this, and received a message and the whole screen was taken over and closed out the keyboard.

hello, I dont if this will help, but have you tried restarting your phone? also, I know within some apps in the notifications settings allows for pop up notifications. I would go into the notification settings for these apps and try toggling on and off the pop up option. sometimes that helps to make the pop up work correctly.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I've restarted a few times now, and cleared the cache. no luck with the toggling on/off of pop-ups. I took another screenshot, I can simulate the problem by just pulling down the notification bar partially... whole screen flashes to black. I am pretty sure it's a One UI bug, but strange I'm the only one so far that posted about it.

I did a factory reset and restored and the problem appears to have solved itself.

ok, good to hear. I was going to suggest that, but I know a lot people hate factory resetting their phones. but it solves a lot of issues. I had to do that with the first beta.

finally figured out what is causing this. it's the "theme" that is applied to the device. I don't have anything fancy installed, just the "default" theme... I changed the theme, and changed it back and the issue went away. hopefully it stays away, but that's what's causing it. what led me to figuring this out, was I changed the wallpaper I was using which was mainly black, to a default one, and I noticed the status bar was black... which triggered me to check the theme.
