you are not the only one I have this problem too. every time I search for something and when I click on the link it will for me not open or it will open after I close Google.

Yes, and I have reported this as an issue. Google Assistant does not respond to voice activation either. If you are experiencing either problem, I recommend that you raise the issue via beta feedback to ensure that it is addressed.
