Android auto wireless keeps trying to use the wifi connection made between my car and the phone as if it was a regular wifi connection and won't switch to data when connection is unstable or slow(option is checked on). This makes it unusable. I tested the phone directly and also won't do anything that requires data connection while connected to the car(either from AA or the phone directly). Please try clearing the system cache and rebooting your device.
