It's kind of odd for the whole system to have nice new animations yet lack any animation when opening or exiting a conversation in the stock Messages app. Not a huge deal, but seems like an oversight.
I totally agree! In comparison to all of the other functions and features, the Messages app is the only one lacking in development. Its solid but too basic in stature. If anything, grant the options to personalize the look and tone of each message.
