I wish this emergency call function can be disabled. There have been a couple of incidents when my phone is in my pocket, it accidentally dialed 999 or 995 to call the police. This happens even with my "Accidental Touch" is enabled.
I hope Samsung in their next update can provide this disable function to the user. Otherwise, when the police call me up again for saying that I am making a prank call, I am going to direct them to Samsung Helpdesk to log their complains.
Same. I've had 2 accidental calls to the police. Only realized what had happened when I saw the SMS from SPF, alerting me to silent calls from my phone to their emergency hotline. 😅
you can do so. Search for "Emergency SOS" in your phone's Settings to disable it. either by making it difficult to (tap 3 times on power on button) or turn if off. Hope this helps. Please let us know if this helps so that the community can learn a few things out.
Hi I am experiencing the same issue. Own this S22 ultra for 3 months and it made 7 calls to 999. Was told by Samsung tech support that this feature cannot be turned off and it's not advisable to put the phone in pocket! How stupid!!!
Same here. Since I purchased s23, I cannot count how many times calling the emergency 999 despite trying all the recommendations from every forums and YouTube I can find. If this is not improved, I am considering changing to other brand.
