I noticed on the Samsung messaging app that there is no option to block sms from senders that has no number. Is there a workaround to this? Thanks in advance.

Hey zzzen,

You can block SMS messages from unknown numbers, but only retroactively - meaning they have to text you first.

Follow these screenshots to block unknown numbers:

1. Head to the message you received.

2. Tap the number to pull details, and then tap "block number."

3. Tap "Block" to finalize the block process.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the quick response. Blocking unknown numbers is not an issue. It's messages from senders that doesnt have a phone number to begin with that I'm having problems with. I attached a screenshot as an example. That particular sender sent me a message but I am unable to block it.Screenshot_20231005_141212_Messages_1000002038_1696486332.png

Got it, I must have misread the comment.

I see the issue - there's currently no option to block messages like that, and I can't seem to find the phrase filter on the stock app 😅😅 must've been misplaced in the last update lol

Anyway, I do know that Google Messages and Textra both support text filtering - so that might be a better solution for you instead of the stock Messages app.

To be honest I wouldn't want to change my default messaging app just because I prefer how the samsung messages looks like 😅. I guess I would have to switch over to different one for now then. I do hope this is something that can be added on future updates. Thanks for the recommendation and the swift response as always! 👌

I totally hear you - I was sure that the option existed and was surprised to see that... well, it didn't anymore 🤣🤣

Personally, I recommend Textra. I've used that for 5 years now and was happy enough that I bought the full version eventually! You might want to give it a shot :)
