Samsung Cloud Needs To Do Better

Personally I think Samsung needs to step up their cloud backup game to be more seamless and less of a hassle.

I have used Samsung since TouchWiz era. Even until now, I find it mind boggling when it comes to backing up my phone. Especially when it comes to Photos & Videos.

There are 3 separate & confusing options to make backups. Samsung Cloud, Google Drive & Microsoft OneDrive (for Photos & Videos only)

Basically Samsung Cloud backs up pretty much the same thing as Google Drive, such as apps, messages, call history and device settings. Samsung Cloud can do more such as backup your Home Screen.

Photos & Videos will only be backed up to Google Drive, if you're using Google Photos. Which means you would be forced to have two seperate "Gallery" App.

If you just want to use the default Gallery App, you'd be forced to back up your Photos & Videos to OneDrive, which only has 5GB for free. Surely not enough.

Which means you would need to upgrade the storage plan. The price to upgrade the storage plan on OneDrive is ridiculous compared to Google Drive & iCloud.

I'm only ranting about this because I've used an iPhone as well. I have to admit the seamlessness when backing up an iPhone is way better than Samsung's.

So I'm only saying this because I want Samsung to do better. I wish Samsung would utilize Samsung Cloud properly by making it available to backup every single thing.

Provide a storage plan with comparable prices with Google Drive & iCloud. It's almost 2024 yet there are still a few basics of ecosystem that Samsung still hasn't got right.

Not so much of a Galaxy.

I couldn't agree more. As I've bought the s23+ hoping there's a change in this area but yet so far none. I do agree Apple is great with this and very seamless but the ecosystem you're kinda stuck in it.

Yeaa I have tried iPhone for a few times, but I always find myself going back to Android. Don't want to be locked in the Apple Ecosystem.

Currently on S23. Wanted the S23 Plus as well but out of budget range 😅

The s23 is great phone compact but I prefer the s23+ as slight big and has a bigger storage of 512gb. S23U kinda boxy,the sensor and curved screen make the phone more vulnerable for me. As I highly abuse my phone physically due to sports .

Samsung is really pushing us to use MS OneDrive more lately, but that's the more reason why I wanna use Google Drive more 😁

Last year i subscribed the onedrive storage to backup my photos but rn i use the google photos because my photos and pic keep missing....and i can't found it...did u have any idea how to transfer my old vid and pic from onedrive to google photos b4 it disappear

It's one of many reasons I swithed to android ( Samsung ) after few models of apple phones. Flexibility in choosing my own backup platform and bigger storage capacity😉
