Samsung's latest Galaxy S22 series device comes with some significant new features and improvements. In fact, phones are equipped with many new hardware and software changes, such as a new chipset, S pen, and better displays. But, there is a big difference this year in the camera segment in terms of hardware and software.

In addition to the new sensors, Samsung has focused on some software-related features. One of them is the new adaptive pixel technology. Adaptive Pixel technology is one of the many new camera features in the Galaxy S22 series this year.

Image processing and camera optimization play a huge role in determining the output quality from a smartphone camera and this is where such features come into play. Let’s try to understand what is the adaptive pixel feature in Samsung’s new smartphones and how it can benefit you as a Galaxy S22 user.

Samsung One UI 4.1 has a new Adaptive Pixel feature that allows Cameras to allow more light into the light and at the same time captures more detail while keeping the colors well balanced even in low light. Both phones also come with “advanced VDIS technology” which reduces vibration.

In addition, the Pixel Binning is a great way to save storage space on your smartphone and it also enables the sensor to capture more light as the effective size of the pixel is larger. However, there are also advantages to taking pictures with high resolution.

Adaptive Pixel on Galaxy S22 Ultra!

When you capture an image through a 108MP sensor, the captured detail level is very high. It cannot be repeated or matched by your software. Hence, Samsung came up with a hybrid solution called the Adaptive Pixel.

Adaptive Pixel is a smart way to retain details from the 108MP sensor while reducing the pixel file size. It does this by capturing not just one but two images each time you click on the image. The phone takes one shot in 108MP mode and the other in 12MP mode.

After capturing two images at each resolution, some software processing takes place in the background to merge them into one image. The final outcome is an image that is very light, not too large in size, and has enough detail.

All of this happens in the background and in the blink of an eye due to the powerful chipsets and image signal processors in modern smartphones. If you take photos regularly and zoom in on them, Adaptive Pixel will definitely benefit you.

This is one of the many new camera features introduced with the Samsung Galaxy S22 series. Features like these can entice smartphone photographers to transform into the new Galaxy S22 Ultra, especially as the Galaxy S21 Ultra is one of the most versatile camera phones and reinforces the concept of the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
