I have been using Samsung Pay Transit Card for more than a year, and had no issues. However, this evening, I encountered an error while boarding a bus. Gantry prompted red flashing error "Use another bank card". I ended up tapping 3 times on both gantries, but still same issues. Luckily, I brought along a physical spare card.
To my surprise, Samsung Pay Transit Card successfully registered the 3 taps. To make matter worse, the bank charged me $3.15 for the 3 taps in 5mins time.
I had experienced that on my Watch 4's Samsung Pay before. When it happened, I scrolled to another card to make payment. So I suspect there is a connection loss between your card's company and the card reader. A few days later without doing anything, I tried again with the same card and it managed to work successfully without any error "Use another bank card". However, I wasn't charged for the error, as the transaction didn't go through.
So, I would suggest to wait for a few days later, then u try again. If it persists, u may need to check with ur card company to see if the card is valid. Highly likely, this issue will be resolved on its own. But definitely, u need to claim for refund regarding the transaction deducted while u get 3 times of error within the same duration.
Hopefully, this error won't appear again the next time u try tapping. To play safe, probably use another card to tap, until about 3 to 4 days later, then try again.
May I know which card are u using that is causing this error? For me, I was using the DBS Visa Debit Card then. So far, credit cards have no issue. This was the only debit card I am using for Samsung Pay Transport card, as I prefer Visa to earn more points since deduction is done on a daily basis. Now that I have more Visa credit cards, I no longer use the Visa debit card as my transport card.
