Perhaps we can drag the corner of the reply area to make it bigger? I think it was the same in some apps like in Facebook status or comment (dunno if it's still true now).

The Stock Samsung Messages app actually expands as you type in more messages, no need to drag. It looks like you're using Google Messages though, you should let the developers behind it about your suggestion.

I got used to it that I didn't think it's necessary to write about it until I switched to Google messages for RCS feature (and because of that, I can't use Bixby to send a message)
I believe newer Samsung phones uses Google messages by default. Does the logo of your default messaging app look like the one on the left of the pic attached? Then it must be Google messages. And if the reply box still behaves the same as the old Samsung messages, then I envy you. Ahaha..

Yes, Google Messages is the default SMS app for newer devices. I have both Google Messages and the stock one, but I changed mine to Samsung's app.
