Thank you for reaching your concern. @Bryce_Aviator, you have to uninstall your Gear Apps and install it again to update the detections or pairing of your device to your GW4 Classic. You may also update your Gear Apps and pair your GW4.
Next step, you may unpair the GW4 and reconnect it again to pair your device to GW4.
I also have trouble when pairing/reconnect my Active2 on my new device. I just follow the steps i have provide above. I hope this will answer or resolve your issue. Stay safe! Enjoy!❤👍📸

Hello Bryce_Aviator,

The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 cannot be set up as standalone watches. These models must be set up with a phone via the Galaxy Wearable app.

The following instructions will help you connect your watch to your phone.

Step 1. Turn on your watch by pressing and holding the Home key, and then navigate to and open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone. If you haven't installed the app, you can do so from the Galaxy Store or Play Store on Android devices.

Step 2. Next, select your device from the list and follow the prompts to complete the setup. You will be prompted to sign into your Samsung account and your Google Account if you have not done so already.

Step 3. It doesn't stop with connecting to a phone, though! You can pair Bluetooth headphones and listen to music or take calls on an LTE watch.

Step 4. Once your watch and phone are connected via the Galaxy Wearable app, you may be prompted to download compatible apps. For instance, you can use the Strava app or the adidas Running app to track your fitness progress!

If your watch will not pair to a phone, or if it randomly disconnects, restart your watch. You should also make sure the Galaxy wearable app is up to date, but it may be necessary to reset the app and unpair your watch.

How to Reboot your Samsung smart watch.

Step 1. Press and hold the Power key until "Rebooting..." displays.

To force a reboot on your watch, press and hold the Home key (Power key) and Back key at the same time until "Rebooting..." displays. Do not select Power off on the screen or Restart when it appears.

The length of time you need to hold down the buttons varies by device. On some watch models, it may take up to 30 seconds for "Rebooting..." to appear.

Step 2. Release the Power key, and wait for the watch to reboot.

When the Rebooting message appears, release the keys you were holding down. The watch screen will go dark, and then the watch will reboot.

If the watch is connected to your phone, the devices will temporarily disconnect during the reboot.

Step 3. Check for software updates.

If you're rebooting your watch to fix a problem, be sure to check for software updates on your watch and the Galaxy Wearable app once the reboot is complete.

Hope this content is helpful.
