Hi, I have a Galaxy Tab S3 and have recently purchased a Samsung Monitor with USB-C/Thunderbolt 3. I am already using the HDMI port for another PC, and I would like to use the display-supported USB-C/Thunderbolt port for Samsung Dex purposes.

However, I noticed a black screen when using the USB-C port behind the monitor (Note, I tested the HDMI port connectivity to the Tab S3 and it works).

Any workaround suggestions, since I suspect the Tab S3 doesn't support Thunderbolt connectivity ??

Hi TJ101, were you looking to use DeX to transfer data from your Tab S3 to computer? DeX is unfortunately not supported on the Tab S3, however you can use the Smart Switch app if you need to move content across your device if needed.

Hi SamsungLaura,
Actually, it was more for display purposes as opposed to data transfer. But, its good to know about the Smart Switch app usefulness in data transfers.

Aside, Dex works fine on the TabS3 and generally don't have support issues, but I thought it would be useful to hear what options exist. I am in the process of setting up AnLinux to run some GUI stuff (considering Linux for Dex is now dead on Andriod v10+).

My other option was to buy a small hub that can act as a bridge between the TabS3 USB-C port and the Samsung Monitor's Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port.

Don't think it would work as the power won't distribute evenly.
