Hello! I have a keyboard problem that appeared just now.
The last few weeks of using this, I have no problem while using my book cover keyboard, but now, on Messenger, whenever I try to type on chats using my actual keyboard, the virtual keyboard keeps on popping out. so, I can only type 1 letter at a time. The keyboard just keeps on popping out, I can not chat conveniently. Can someone please help me out if we have the same problem?

EDIT: Sorry for the inconvenience! I already found a way to fix this. Thank you very much!

Hi. It was actually because of Settings only. It was not really a problem on the device or book cover itself, I just haven't had the time to check-out all of the other settings 🤣 So, I went to General Management > Keyboard list and Default > Physical Keyboard > then turn off "Show on-screen keyboard". Don't know why it suddenly turned-on, pretty sure i turned it off when i first bought this 🤣 😢

Hello pjanina,

Sorry to hear that, about your experience with your Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 having issues with book cover keyboard while using messenger apps and we apologize for the inconvenience it caused you.

Before you try out the recommendations below, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps (Messenger) are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.

Step 2. Tap on Download and install.

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 4. Reset your device.

The on-screen keyboard is an integral part of using a Galaxy phone or tablet since it lets you reply to messages, search the web, and do other important tasks. If the keyboard isn't working, like if it's frozen or unresponsive, you'll want to get it up and running again as soon as possible. Using the default keyboard, clearing the cache, and checking for software updates are some of the things you can do to solve the issue.

Note : If you are experiencing issues with the keyboard closing when you're typing, you can try adjusting the sensitivity along the edges of the screen.

A) Use the default Samsung Keyboard.

We recommend using the Samsung Keyboard that comes preinstalled on your device. Third-party keyboard apps may cause problems. If you are having issues with an alternate keyboard app, you will need to contact its developer.

1) Navigate to and open Settings.

2) Tap General Management.

3) Tap Keyboard list and default.

4) Tap Default keyboard.

5) Choose Samsung Keyboard.

B) Optimize with Battery and device care.

Close all of the running apps on your phone or tablet. Then, navigate to and open Settings. Tap Device care, and then tap Optimize now. This will close any apps that are running in the background and optimize certain settings.

C) Clear the keyboard's cache and data.

  1. Navigate to and open Settings, and then scroll and tap Apps.
  2. Tap the sort icon and then tap the switch next to Show system apps, and then tap OK.
  3. Search for or scroll to Samsung Keyboard, and then tap it.
  4. Tap Force stop.
  5. On the same screen, tap Storage.
  6. Tap Clear data, and then tap OK . This will erase all your keyboard settings, including saved words.

D) Check your Book Cover Keyboard for any signs of damage.

Also, you can submit an error report through Samsung Members app as follows:

Step 1. Long press Samsung Members icon on Apps screen and tap Error reports.

Step 2. Tap OK on agreement popup to send system log data.

Step 3. Select Symptom category "Bluetooth".

Step 4. Describe the problem in details and SEND.
