Hi,

We have a Galaxy Tab A, model number SM-T510, and using the Samsung email app (version 6.1.97.1). In the app there is a POP3 account and a IMAP account. How do I move an email from a folder in the POP3 account to a folder in the IMAP account please ?

I have tried it, but after the emails are selected and the 'move' initiated, the folder selection is only for the account where the email is sourced.

This is just an idea. Can you copy the emails to a usb then try an import? Or Google for converter software?

It's virtually impossible to 'find' the emails. The folder where they are located is not visible. That's a Samsung approach. So, to answer the question, the only way to copy the emails to a usb (or any other device) is to 'save the email' . Then the emails can be accessed in the "Saved Email" folder, as an .EML format

But that is one by one and there are no doubt thousands of emails.

See if googling "samsung copy pop3 emails" There, without reading the hits, seem to be some suggestions there.

Yes there are, I have spent a number of days looking for solutions. There is a method to do a 'backup' to Google cloud, however as these emails are of a private and confidential matter, we won't be using any 'cloud' service. Smart Switch kept failing, and 99% of the 'backup' methods for a phone only backup settings and 'data', but the data isn't emails because one cannot see/view the locatoin where they are stored on a phone.

I seem to remember when I connected to Windows via a cable I could see the phone's file structure. Hard to find anything because I was unfamiliar with its parameters. It is possible that backups fail because of size, so using the windows connection could you break the windows copying into bite sized chunks?

Thanks, I only really use *nix and that can get at 'deeper' levels of file structure than Windows. Samsung have the file permissions set to not even view where it is. I did use Windows and Smart Switch but it was vert flakey, kept dropping out.

I have run out of ideas so I will only come back if I think of silly or sensible new ones.

I think you have just identified that you have solved it?

Not solved unfortunately. I thought I was in the POP3 account , moving to the IMAP account, but alas, not resolved as yet.
