8 is a good number, trust everyone agree. I am appealing to Samsung to offer longer or parity update support to S8 tab as I am still enjoy using it daily and intend to for the next 2-3 yrs. Apple has done a great job in supporting older devices.
I knew Samsung wants to make $$$, but having good and competitive support is the only formula to maintain and increase your customer base and loyalty. You have nothing to lose doing so, but everything to lose when customer moves the whole device ecosystem to other vendor. Many hold multiple devices. Samsung gains more if average user spends sgd 3-4k on samsung devices every 5yrs, go do the math Samsung!
I am appealing to people to petition and vote for this call if you want to use your "good device" for 5yrs in general. And Samsung to listen to what US as customer sees them as worthy vendor. That's so much you can do on SW and HW refinements, and others had catch up over the years. Customer support costs $$ for sure, that is the fundamental and foundational many vendors especially the Chinese ones won't do much because they see profitability more than customer quality of service in almost 100% angle.

we don't need to compromise on existing, but hope the company that made $$$ from us has the consciousness to respond to what make them continue to be relevant in this super competitive markets. Last Sunday my church pastor showed hundreds of people why he switched from Samsung to Google pixel, from his old S10. I am sure many heard and started thinking about the value of Samsung. Hope our small voice can be wake up calls to Samsung, even a small one, but collectively, it will be loud enough to shift the standing pole of their dominant in the market.
