Is there a setting that I'm missing that's unique to this tablet that's not applicable on either my S21 Ultra or Note 10+ phones ?

Both of those phones run DEX flawlessly. Yes- the fairly recently updated wireless DEX. And, I saw info that Tab S6 is supposed to run DEX, at least cabled and I would presume it should also work wifi, since it was DEX that got upgraded, not the phone or PC.   But right now I'm not getting anything. I updated DEX on the PC, but I can't see how or where do that on the Tab S6.  It has a gear icon that when clicked has adjustable settings but I can't find an "update now" setting or button. Please tell me where to locate it if you know for sure I'm in error - I may be - I just couldn't find it - I'm sure it's there somewhere but I missed it, I just can't seem to find it.

To be clear, it's a Tab S6 not an S6-Lite, which I don't think probably even matters, but in case it does, my device in question is a Tab S6.

I didn't resize the below screenshots so I'm not sure if at the posted view the text will be completely readable, so, just in case, the highlighted areas read ::

[ Image 1 ]   Simply shows app name ( DEX ) in   Settings\Apps\App Info
[ Image 2 ]   Samsung DEX version is - 3.0.08.10

What's really buggy is that, since the DEX update, after launching DEX on PC to try to connect tablet to pc, it initially loads and shows up onscreen clearly recognizable identical to how it's supposed to look. Okay fine. But THEN,  at any action after loading, **bleep**-it just rapidly disappears. Well, not completely. It actually minimizes instantly to the icon in the taskbar lower right notifications area where the time is and etc etc.. Yeah, over there, where you have to click an up arrow to expand to see hidden taskbar items.   What explains why DEX is just evaporating out of view instantaneously and winding up over there I HAVE NO CLUE... it just does..   and, on maximizing up to regular standard window size,  it simply is "blind" to connecting to the S7 tablet.  And yes the S7 WIFI works fine, peppy & speedy, and it is on the same network SSID as the Windows laptop or desktop ( I have multi of both) running DEX.. but it results in NUTHIN'....  Zilch. And I'm out of the usual suspects of typical brain fog mistakes -- like forgetting to make sure both devices are on wifi and same network name, etc etc... just as an example.... I've ran through that checklist of those easy-to-catch-and-fix type mistakes... Whatever it is it's more involved than that...

One more thing - about my "Samsung Account" - Yea,  I even went and made sure about that too, that's it's set up and all is okay with it in the S6.  All is okay with that. ....just in case it matters.....  and I'm still stumped....

Any feedback about this situation is welcome.  Thank you in advance.

One final screenshot of About Phone\ Software Information ---- thanks everybody...

thank you for your prompt suggestion.

Unfortunately I already tried that,  resulting in no improvement.

I'm going to look into that.  If I can I will.   My axe to grind mostly is that DEX is working fine on my other Samsung devices with the current windows version, which isn't ancient, and windows automatic updates have been updating the usual minor bells & whistles and security patch updates ur surely familiar with.  The S6 is two models older than the current S8, from 2019, so I find it ironic that a windows version update would even be necessary, not that I don't appreciate ur feedback - from my current status I don't have anything to lose so I'm going to see if that update can be applied to a Dell Latitude E6430 with Windows 10 on it & see how it goes.... Will post outcome later.
