I have been using secure WiFi, the subscription service that gives you an encrypted tunnel when using public WiFi (I believe the pipes & boilers are supplied by McAfee?).
I haven't done any serious pen testing or anything but I gave mixed results when using it with public WiFi (the whole purpose of it).
I think sometimes it only starts when the app comes to the forefront, and I have had a few public WiFi networks that it was unable to connect via.
Curious on what anyone else who has used it thinks....

I've used it a couple of times. When im on public wifi and needing to be a bit more private (using specific apps).

It's worked well for me. I have it in the quick notification bar, i just tap it as and when I require!

I didn't subscribe though, I just used their free amt for the month. I tend to have plenty of mobile data, but used it when I'm overseas and using public wifi.

One place I remember it not being able to connect was at a Woolworths Free WiFi

I use it for all external connections, such as work and hotspot in general.

Woolworth and some other sources require a second authentication. Thus no data from the onset is why Secure WiFi may not connect innitaily and localised location maybe required.

I still use it regularly but I have also added a real VPN that allows specific routing and multi connection. Just .ore paranoia controls really :)
I think the pric difference is negligible, so maybe I will keep mullvad and retire the Samsung service
