Tips & TricksWant to be able to scan documents directly from your phone without having to download any 3rd party applications? Simply launch the camera on your Galaxy device, line up your phone to the Document you would like to scan then select Tap to scan to capture your Doc. Follow the below guide for step-by-step instructions.
Please Note: This guide is designed for Australian variant Galaxy devices, if you have an international device and require further support click here to get in touch with your Samsung subsidiary. This function is available on Galaxy devices operating on OS 11 and above.
Scanning Documents
Android OS 12 (S)
1. Launch the Camera App
2. Align the camera to scan the Document using the rear camera. Once the document has been identified select Tap to scan
3. You can then crop the document to add or remove any unnecessary information scanned. When you are happy with the scanned area tap on Save.
4. Once the scan has been saved, you will be able to view your Document within the Gallery app
Android OS 11 (R)
1. Launch the Camera App
2. Align the camera to scan the Document using the rear camera. Once the document has been identified select Tap to scan
3. You can then crop the document to add or remove any unnecessary information scanned. When you are happy with the scanned area tap on Save
4. Once the scan has been saved, you will be able to view your Document within the Gallery app
Extracting Text
Android OS Version 12 (S)
1. Once the document has been scanned, tap on the icon.
2. Once the text has been extracted, you can highlight what you would like to use within the document. You will then have the option to Translate, Copy or Search the highlighted text
Android OS Version 11 (R)
1. Once the document has been scanned, tap on Extract Text
2. Your Galaxy S21 will then start extracting the text on your scanned document
3. Once the text has been extracted, you can highlight what you would like to use within the document. You will then have the option to Translate, Copy or Search the highlighted text
4. If you have chosen to copy the text, it will be saved as a clipboard. Head into your preferred application to share or paste the extracted text. When you are ready to paste your copied text simply tap on the clipboard button on your Keyboard.
5. Once selected your extracted text will be pasted in your chosen application. You will then be able to add on to the text or share to a friend.
