adware on my TV

Hi,

My TV has installed some kind of adware by itself without my input. Every time I turn it on it begins to play bloomberg which I find very bothersome, there is also an ad in the apps menu now. This is extremely annoying and I don't see how it could be part of a firmware update as they are meant to improve functionality and security, not add bloatware.

There are also a number of applications the TV will not allow me to remove listing them as "core apps" such as foxtel, amazon prime and other junk.

How do I remove all of this unwanted garbage from my television and prevent it from coming back?

Thanks

Hi @coffeemonster, I'm sorry to hear that you're not enjoying your television experience.

Samsung is continuously developing and enhancing the experience we provide through our Smart TVs. Samsung currently works with content providers to offer recommendations that seek to help our customers explore the latest content options and services. These recommendations appear alongside other content streaming options only when navigating the Smart TV app menu. If you would like more information on this, please see here: https://www.samsung.com/au/support/tv-audio-video/samsung-smart-tv-sponsored-tiles/

If you're having issues with the Freeview info bar after your latest update, please see here: https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/tvs/return-button-not-working-for-previous-channel/m-p/10318410

Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with, @coffeemonster.

As the representative from Samsung has said here, adverts are now a "feature" of all their products and native applications in both their phones and TV's. These are "enhancing the experience"... hense why I have now reconsidered my purchase of the Samsung NeoQLED TV I was looking at, and I was also ready to upgrade my phone, but even as a big Samsung fan and loyal customer I can not support their behaviour and will look at different companies that wish to earn my loyalty and business, not make a quick dollar out of me by pushing adverts at the expense of ruining a otherwise great experience. :(

Its amazing how many times I have seen the representatives here and also direct replies from smasung team say they are sorry we are not enjoying our experience, but then completely not care and completely disregard what we think or feel regarding their "enhanced experience" pushing of adverts...

I’ve found the perfect solution to the ads problem: an apple tv device! No ads at all, bypass the smart tv interface altogether.
For when a tv made by apple?
