Samsung TV to DVD to Samsung Sound Bar

Hi,

I have Samsung TV UA60JU7000, Panasonic DVD player (over 10 years old) and Samsung sound bar (18 months old).

I connected the three using HDMI.

Soundbar HDMI to DVD player

Soundbar HDMI Arc to Samsung hub (HDMI1)

The sound is working when DVD player is on through the sound bar but when I use Apps or just the TV (turn off DVD player) the sound isn't to working.

When I change the cable from Soundbar HDMI Arc to Samsung hub HDMI Arc, sound doesn't work through DVD player, only TV.

What is going on?

because hdmi and hdmi arc are 2 separated port so to use the soundbar with app u have to use hdmi1 or the port number they are connected

but I will say maybe connect the TV and the sound bar through optical and then DVD and TV with normal hdmi(not arc) and see if in this way it works
