TV & AudioHello Samsung. Usually I am a very loyal and happy Samsung customer but not this time. Recently purchased a brand new Smart TV Premium 43" UHD Commercial Hospitality TV HG43AT690UKXXY. To save a bit of money TV was purchased on eBay. Described as a smart TV by an eBay seller as well as Samsung website . Beautiful TV until we attempted to set it up. Firstly, could not connect this TV to network as the network option as well as many other options on this TV were grayed out. Contacted online chat and was advised to call in the morning. Called in the morning and was guided through a TV connection to the wifi. Also was informed that this supposedly smart TV does not have any apps preinstalled , there is no smart Hub on this TV and the only way to access the apps on this TV is by using a third party product such as Google Chromecast. I am using one of those with my 15 years old Sony TV, works great, but never thought I would need to use it with a brand new SMART TV. Samsung’s definition of Smart TV is TV+internet+apps=smart TV. How can Samsung market this TV as a smart TV if one cannot install any apps on it? I now have to repackage this TV and ship it back to the seller. Most likely I would be out of the pocket as the item is now used. Samsung’s offer to me is a 15% discount for a purchase of a new TV from a Samsung’s website. Not good enough as I believe Samsung misrepresented this product and it should never be marketed as a Smart TV. Next step will probably contact consumers affairs for a further advice.
