Sound bar audio delay

I am having issues with a sound delay with this new sound bar plugged into my Samsung tv.

Have tried different HDMI leads with no difference. Have tried PCM and bitstream with no difference. The sound delay slider only allows an increase of the sound delay. I already have a delay so this does not help.

Sound bar is HW-Q900A and TV is QA55Q6FNA.

I am connected via the ARC port on the TV and the EARC port on the sound bar. All firmware is up to date. I do not have this issue with my Yamaha AV receiver.

Any ideas please before I return this unit?

Hi @Hastingd, that's strange. Is this occurring on all apps? 

Some troubleshooting steps I suggest are:

1. Unpairing and re-pairing your soundbar and TV. 

2. Ensure both your soundbar and TV firmware are up to date. 

3. Cold reboot: Power off and unplug both the TV and soundbar for at least two minutes before restarting again. 

4. Check if the audio delay is from your TV:

I have the exact same issue. The OP was referring to the inability of the soundbar to set a _negative_ audio delay (audio ahead of video).

The current functionality of the soundbar only allows to increase the delay (from 0-300ms). This does not work to solve the audio sync issue in mine and the OPs setup.

Please prioritize this in a firmware upgrade (and also please release *changelogs* to announce exactly what has changed/improved in a fw upgrade for the soundbars)

Otherwise I will also have to return the soundbar as AV sync issues is not something I can live with.

Revisited this topic almost a year later, and no word from Samsung – nor a new firmware update available – other than the 1010 version (from 2022) which only had minor changes.

This is not good, Samsung.
