Hello again, I've just received an answer from our team. The SE-218 DVD Writer was designed to be used with PC and MAC, they are not made for direct connection to TVs.

Please note, the TV model you have referenced is not available in Australia. Should you have any further questions regarding this model, please refer back to your Samsung subsidiary (country TV was purchased or imported from).

Hope this clarifies things. :)

I have connected it through USB — I have tried each of the two USB ports on the TV but have been unable to find a setting OR any advice in the “Help” section on the menu on the TV.

Sorry for the delay in replying but access to this “community” is extraordinarily convoluted (and I have been programming real-time systems, including ATM-attached functions, since 1965!)

Hi @VelcroJP3, apologies, are you able to clarify which TV model you've got as the product numbers provided are not coming up with any search results?

The model number on the back of the TV is “QE43Q60TAUXXU” and the serial number is “0EYZ3HUNA04531P” (although the “)” could be a “6”, because the printing looks “blurred” (the numerical are all underlined).

There are instructions for connecting an external recorder / player using HDMI, but none of the options allows me to connect the (Samsung!) DVD-Writer, which I have been using for about two or three years connected to my Apple iMac.

Thanks for the extra info @VelcroJP3. I found your TV model and have reached out to our team regarding the compatibility of the DVD writer to your Q60T TV, and will get back to you when I receive a response. 😊
