Increasingly my watch 4 classic goes into a reboot loop when I placed it on the charging cradle. I have forced reboot the watch and even reset the watch, it's still not helping. I did uninstall Strava app and the watch is now charging. Can third-party apps cause the watch to stop charging? I have been asked to send the watch in.

Feel the watch when charging. How hot did it get? Compare with or without Strava.

With Strava the watch was going into reboot loop and felt hot. After removing Strava, the watch charges and doesn't feel hot.

I think is the app running in background causing heat and add on charging which also cause heat...overheat means reboot. Protection mechanism kick in.

Do you know how to turn app off. I usually change view to the watch face and thought the app would close. But apparently not?

Avinash, thanks I have already sent the watch in today to Samsung service center. The watch was not only having issues charging, but later could not read barometric pressure, could not do ECG and could not perform body composition. The technician called to say there was corrosion when watch was opened up and will repair the watch. Let's see if the issues are rectified after repair.

Woah.. that's quite bad for a new watch.. how can there be corrosion for a new watch.. Can't imagine a year or 2 later, would the whole internals be corroded.. either that.. it's the rubber seal inside that is placed incorrectly, leading to moisture seeping through.. doesn't have to be large droplets of water.. as Singapore is humid, tiny droplets could seep through..

JP19 you were correct when you the issue with my watch overheating was due to motherboard. The corrosion affected the motherboard, battery and casing. So Samsung will replace all the affected parts. I asked them if they can issue a new watch. They said they will repair. And it is estimated to take 8 days to repair versus three days. There is no parts availability over the weekend.

Yeah the same thing happened to my mum's watch. The overheating was due to all sorts of components. And they won't replace with a new one, as explained by them, the replacement required the manager to approve and it's not easy for a 1-to-1 exchange, which I think it's very time consuming and more costly for their end, where they could replace with a new one, and save on time and manpower resources.
