Since they upgraded the phone system in Southern West Vic, my phone drops in and out. I secretly think it was a downgraded, to force us all onto the 5g network. They have recently stopped the 2g and they will work there way up until everyone is on 5g. What a joke. #forcedonto5g

3G in the US is getting killed off, I think, I used to own a ROG 2 before it died on me and a lot of people on the ROG 1 forum say that since 3G is getting killed off their phones that are 3 years old are becoming paper weights. So I expect Australia to be soon to follow. But, I dont see 4G going away until atleast 6G is around.

Hi @Megz83, that's strange. Network issues can be a result of various factors such as carrier maintenance, distance from router, location, etc.

Have you tried resetting network settings [Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset network settings > RESET NETWORK SETTINGS].

Please note that this will forget any previously linked Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connections.

If the issue persists, I suggest sending an error report via the Samsung Members app for this to be investigated. Error reports are sent to our team to identify any deviations in your device performance, once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further.

To send an error report:

Samsung Members > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘send system log data’ > Send in top right.

Hi there, please check your network provider. The type of plan you are. Also the big thing is the infrastructure your network provider is using. Reset network settings could help, not a guarantee.

You will be surprised how fast your service could be if you are closer to tower belonging to your network provider.

FYI: samsung series of phones from 2019 has a good network coverage signal inbuilt.

Let us know what works for you.

Sometimes your phone tries to switch to best signal e.g. between 5g and 4g, or lte and 3g repeatedly and this results in dropouts. Search for network mode (Settings, Connections, Mobile networks) and lock the setting to, for example, 3G. If you have a phone that allows 5G, lock it to LTE/3G. Obviously the lower the setting the slower your data downloads. If you want to get geeky download app Aus Phone Towers, and you will be able to see signal coverage from your closest phone tower by provider e.g. Telstra.
