Hi @juniorjoey, software updates are released on a rollout schedule dependent on region, model, and carrier. As a result, each team modifies the update to suit the features and devices of each region.

Hi SamsungLaura, is there any timeline of when we can expect the update to reach our region

Hi @juniorjoey, internally there is a rough rollout schedule for our devices, however no official dates have been set.

To stay updated with announcements, I suggest checking the 'Notices' section of the Samsung Members app.

I really think samsung don't care about their Australia customers as if the did they wouldn't ve making us wait so long for Android 12

As an overall experience, suffice to say that Australian customer have not been getting the top fruit. Not just delayed updates, even the devices are not quite the same compared to the other markets - The Exynos processor being the case in the point. While other geographies get a much better Snapdragon chipset, we get the Exynos. The rollouts are all happening across the world, but not in Australia and as I see it, there is no explainable reason for the delays in the rollout and neither is a roadmap or a clear date confirmed still.

The current S21 Ultra is for all practical reasons, my last device that I am ever buying which will bear a Samsung badge.

Hi. I installed yesterday Android 12 with UI 4.0 on my Samsung S21 Ultra 5G. I noticed a loss of functionality. As I live in Adelaide we have the mySA gov app for Covid-19 QR scanning. Before the update I used to scan with my Camera and it was opening immediately automatically the MySA gov app. Now with Android 12 this automation was lost. When I scan the QR Code with my camera I get a pop-up window asking if I want to copy or open in a bowser that link (the QR Code link to Covid-19 tracing). Has anyone else noticed this? How do I get that functionality back? (Without rolling back to Android 11 😎)

Unfortunately, this is the risk you face doing things that way.

I've mentioned previously, in other posts asking about the Australian roll-out, that many 3rd party apps still need to be updated to support Android 12.

This isn't Samsung's fault, nor is it Google's fault, it's slow/lazy 3rd party dev's.

Edit: If you installed release build BUK8, then try the newer release, BUKG.
But I suspect your issue might be lack of Android 12 support.

How were you able to get the update, was your phone purchased in Australia or was it purchased elsewhere

My guess is - he most likely flashed a Firmware Update from another region onto his Compatible device.
