Looks like Samsung is preparing for Android 13 already. Noticed an update in the Galaxy Store, and the notes showed the following in relation to the update: "T OS support".

The current 'talk' is that Samsung may start the beta program in the 3rd week of July, and possibly start rolling it out in final form in October.

Let's hope Australia gets invited to the program🙏🏻

No reason we shouldn't be included especially now we have snapdragon variant like Korea and US albeit different models but the hardware is the same. I'll probably end up missing my exynos note 20 ultra even more if not because I used to sideload the beta zips from other regions in Europe shared on xda. I'm actually really over samsung the s22 was a downgrade in almost everyway, screen resolution, battery size, no sd card and they blocked native carrier supported video calls from the Samsung dialler and replaced it with stupid duo and now we are also stuck with Google msgs as well as samsung msgs so it does have a flowing UI if you want working RCS msgs you have to use Google which is actually ugly as sin but not much of an option if you want better features. How about samsung get your own app up to scratch and stop installing rubbish bloatware from Google and bring back your native video calls screw DUO and Google msgs.!id actually have never brought this phone had I known the features I'd be losing it was an almost 1800 dollar downgrade pfft 😡

@Coco85 are you comparing the Note20U and the S22/S22+ or the S22U?

The S22U wipes the floor with the Note20U in almost every way.
In terms of screen resolution:

Note20U 3088 x 1440 pixels, 19.3:9 ratio, 496 PPI

S22U 3088 x 1440 pixels, 19.3:9 ratio, 501 PPI

The S22U also has 1Hz-120Hz refresh rate, larger battery (5000mAh vs 4500mAh), faster response with the s-pen and improved camera's.
As for screen size, 6.9 vs 6.8 is nothing.
Regarding Google Duo and other Google apps, that would likely be a Google requirement.
Samsung messages works fine for me with RCS.

As for sideloading the beta's, India has the same models as Australia, so you could still sideload the beta builds. It just requires the url's to be shared, just like before.
But hopefully, Samsung will expand the beta program since only India as I am aware has the same models as us, and have been part of past beta programs.

Sorry mate I should have been more specific about the models I was actually meaning to compare s22+ to the s20+ 5g also and s22 gets less ram, less storage options, no sd card support and rubbish display by comparison. Legit the only better thing for an end user is 45 watt charging which is like a 5 minute difference in real life conditions and the flat display which should have been done years ago. Never been a fan of the square shape of the note and more curved display than the s20 and s21 phones they started to get flatter with the s20 model thank God, the curved screen is so gimmicky, more expensive to replace and much more prone to breaking not to mention a decent screen protector falls off in a week or so lol. Just feel we are getting less phone for our money and the camera, snapchat in particular and other system lag are still an issue even with June update. I do like that they finally have an optimised app that uses the actual camera directly for snapchat and Instagram now making for better quality photos and zoom etc but it's so laggy it's horrible and we should have always had all social media apps using the full stock camera api or whatever same as iPhone, just getting less phone for the money is my general opinion and they have taken other system features away and don't support carrier features, I actually went around all the major carries, Vodafone, optus and telstra and they all use unbranded cscs now XSA for Australia which in one way is good i guess not less bloatware by 2 apps and a boot screen but I feel like now it's missing carrier features. I used to get telstra video calls over lte/Wi-Fi even with Indonesian csc installed for call recording on s20 and note 20 now I can't even get it with stock XSA. It's still there it's just disabled and that **bleep** annoys me we should have control over the features on our phone when we pay close to 17 or $1,800 or even more if you want the Ultra instead they take them away and install more third-party Google rubbish which by the way I an uninstalled all of it by ADB but they don't make it easy for the average user! I am a Samsung fanboy just very aggravated at losing features I really liked and spending all that money only defined it out later I wouldn't have bought one in all honesty I would have held onto my other phone until it stopped getting updates although now I feel like I'm likely to update next year anyway just to hopefully get a phone that is actually worth the money after that I probably won't upgrade for another few years because the upgrades are so Minuscule and some are even downgrades. Basically phone technology is starting to Plateau it's really not worth it every year. Just having a rant because I feel I wasted money upgrading not here to put others down just me feelings on the new phone.
