Just asking, is Samsung Care+ really worth it? I'd like to hear both positive and negative arguments. All the pros and cons. Thanks

Wouldn't bother Froglette, from the comments I have read from people posting to this forum, Asurion, Samsung's Australian extended warranty/care provider seem to be "adept" at downgrading the grading of your phone which inevitably leads to increased out-of-pocket expenses which seem to defeat the purpose of buying Samsung Care+ to me in the first instance.

To me it seems like an unnecessary "upselling" exercise which whilst I entered into when I bought my S23U and paid a heavily discounted $80 for 1 yrs supposed benefit of swapping phone, I never exercised.

I defo won't be fooled by similar "upselling" tactics of extended warranties whether it be from Samsung or retailers like JB Hifi.

Samsung Care+ isn't the same as trade in,just FYI.

Though they are both by Asurion and they do have a very questionable practice model (in tradeins), their Care+ is really just an 'incase' service.

If you are prone to damaging your phone, then Care+ would be perfect for you. If you like to keep your phone for >2 years, then Care+ can refresh your mobile at the end, so you can eke out another few years. Care+ on discount(50%), to me, is worth it.

Trade ins are a different story...there are precautions you should take (videos and photos) and you have to be proactive (asking updates if there's no news >2 weeks).

If Asurion's business model regarding trade-ins is based on "clever" grading which ultimately leaves customers with out-of-pocket expenses, why would I trust them to be any different in relation to 'incase' service as you describe for Samsung Care +.

To my mind, I would prefer that Samsung Care+ is offered and provided by Samsung Australia rather than be outsourced to a 3rd party service provider. Stand by your product.

Because with care+, you pay to:
1)swap your device
2)refresh your device

When you pay something, you get what you paid for

With trade in, you're trying to get credit for your used phones.
The trade in credit depends on your phone.

These are two fundamentally different things.

Ever heard of saying if what you pay is too good to be true, then it most likely is and that sums up Samsung Care +

I respect your opinion 👍
